Oak Countertop is highly durable and strong wood and it is our second most popular choice after the butcher blocks made of walnut. Its grain pattern is quite unique and gives a lot of character to the design or space which makes it one of the easier species to recognize.

Although there are more than 600 species of oak trees, the most common species are white and red oak.
The main difference is that the white oak has a light brown color and the red oak countertop is a pinkish color.

White Oak is exclusive wood and that is why we recommend keeping its natural beauty.
On the other hand red oak is more affordable and it is the best choice if you want to apply stain on it.

1. Clean up spills promptly: Oak is a porous material and can easily absorb liquids, which can cause stains and damage over time. Be sure to clean up spills as soon as possible to prevent any lasting damage.
   
   
2. Use a cutting board: To avoid scratches and nicks on the oak surface, always use a cutting board when chopping or preparing food. Avoid using sharp knives directly on the countertop.
   
   
3. Avoid harsh chemicals: Harsh cleaning chemicals, such as bleach or ammonia, can damage the finish and dry out the wood. Use a gentle cleaner and avoid using any abrasive scrubbers.
   
   
4. Protect from heat: To avoid warping or cracking, use trivets or pot holders to protect the oak surface from hot pots and pans. Never place hot items directly on the countertop.
   
   
5. Re-seal periodically: Depending on usage, you may need to re-seal your oak countertop every year or two to maintain its natural beauty and protect it from water damage.
   
   
6. Apply natural oils: Every few months, you can use a natural oil such as mineral oil or walnut oil to polish the oak surface and restore its natural lustre.
