Wine Display Cabinets for Dining Rooms and Home Bars

A wine cabinet gives a collection a permanent, visible home without giving up a whole room. 1BENMU builds built-in wine cabinets, freestanding wine storage cabinets and full wine walls for dining rooms, living rooms, kitchens and home bars, sized to the wall and the number of bottles you want to keep on show.

We build the cabinetry itself in solid wood: the cabinet boxes, door frames, display shelving, wood wine racks, slat panels, drawers and base storage. Solid wood is strong enough to carry rows of full bottles, takes stain evenly and can be refinished years later. Cooling units, glass panels and metal wine racks or pegs come from our specialist partners, coordinated and installed by 1BENMU as one project.

A wine display cabinet with glass doors keeps bottles in view while closing them off from dust and everyday traffic, and closed base cabinets below hold glassware, openers and spare stock. Slat panels and open shelves can flank the cabinet so it reads as a full feature wall. Larger collections can move up to a walk-in wine cellar.

Our Custom Wine Cabinet Fabrication Process

Design and Customization: We start with your measurements, the room and the size of your collection, then plan the cabinet layout, door style, racking and base storage. Our in-house team turns this into shop drawings showing each cabinet box, shelf, rack position, lighting point and cooling location for your approval.

Material Selection: Cabinet boxes, door frames, shelving, wood racks and slat panels are made from solid wood selected to match your floors and trim. Cooling units, glass and metal racking are chosen with our specialist partners to suit the bottles you store and how you want them displayed.

Fabrication Process: Cabinet parts, slats and wood racks are CNC cut in our Scarborough shop, then assembled and dry-fitted so doors line up and shelves sit level. Cut-outs and clearances for cooling units, glass doors and rack mounting are built in from the approved drawings.

Finishing Options: The wood can be stained or finished to suit your interior, from pale natural oak to deeper walnut tones. Doors can be framed glass or solid wood, with base cabinets, drawers and open shelves arranged around the display section.

Installation and Quality Assurance: Our crew installs your wine cabinet across Toronto and the GTA, handling site preparation, then fits the glass, racking and cooling from our partners so the whole unit works together. We check door alignment, rack levels and finish before a final inspection and handover.

What to Know Before Ordering a Wine Cabinet from 1BENMU

The best wood for a wine cabinet is a dense, stable hardwood that carries the weight of full bottles without sagging. As a millwork company specializing in solid wood, 1BENMU builds wine cabinets in white oak, red oak, walnut, maple and ash. Oak suits bright, natural interiors, walnut gives a darker, richer look, and maple and ash take paint-grade or light finishes cleanly.

Every wine cabinet from 1BENMU is finished in our Scarborough shop before it reaches your home, so the surface is even across doors, slats and shelves. The wood can be stained to match your floors and trim or left in a natural tone, with clear or oil-based finishes that protect it from fingerprints, spills and handling around bottles.

Custom wine cabinets from 1BENMU can start from $6,500 for a single built-in cabinet with a simple layout, and can go $8,500+ for more complicated projects, materials or designs. The final price depends on the cabinet size, wood species, glass doors, racking style, base storage, lighting and whether a cooling unit is included, so we quote each project individually. To get your price, send your measurements, a photo of the wall and an idea of how many bottles you want to store. Consultations and quotes are free.

A custom wine cabinet from 1BENMU is built to your wall and your collection, while a wine fridge comes in fixed sizes and reads as an appliance. Solid wood framing, shelving and racks make the cabinet part of the room, and a cooling unit from our specialist partners can be built in when bottles need temperature control. Learn how we plan this on our custom wine cellars page.

The whole wine cabinet is handled by 1BENMU, not just the woodwork. We build the solid wood cabinetry, and through our specialist partners and developed sources we bring in built-in wine refrigeration, temperature and humidity control, glass doors, metal wine racks, LED lighting and locks. Our in-house crew prepares the wall, coordinates the power and ventilation the cooling unit needs, and installs everything as one project.

Both are options at 1BENMU, and the choice depends on your wall and how permanent you want the piece to be. A built-in wine cabinet sits tight to the walls and ceiling and can be framed by slat panels or shelving as a feature wall. A freestanding wine cabinet can move with you and suits rentals or rooms you may rearrange later.

Interior designers, architects and general contractors regularly bring wine cabinet projects to 1BENMU. We can work from your drawings or develop shop drawings from your concept, match finishes to the rest of the millwork in the home, and coordinate site preparation and installation with the other trades on the job so the cabinet fits the schedule and the space.

Every wine cabinet fabricated and installed by 1BENMU is covered by our workmanship warranty, which covers manufacturing and installation defects under normal use. Each cabinet goes through our quality assurance process, starting with a review of the approved shop drawings to check dimensions, materials and joinery. After installation, we complete a final inspection to confirm your cabinet meets the high standards 1BENMU sets for every project.

Every wine cabinet 1BENMU designs is planned around the basics of wine storage: darkness, a steady cool temperature and little vibration. Bottles with natural corks keep best lying on their side so the cork stays moist, while screw-cap bottles can stand. Racking holds bottles horizontally, doors limit light and dust, and a cooling unit from our specialist partners can be built in for long-term storage.

For bottles you plan to drink within months, a wine cabinet from 1BENMU without cooling works well in a cool, stable room away from sunlight and appliances. Bottles meant for long-term ageing need controlled temperature and humidity, so for those we build in a cooling unit from our specialist partners or suggest a walk-in wine cellar.
