Our Featured Bedroom and Hallway Layout Redesign
Project Background
This project focused on reworking an enclosed bedroom and narrow hallway to create a more open, functional, and visually connected living space. The existing layout felt tight and segmented, with limited flow between the hallway, bedroom, and bathroom. Our goal was to improve circulation, add storage, and unify the design using custom millwork and architectural details.
Existing Conditions
The original hallway was closed off with solid walls and a standard door, limiting light and visual openness. The bedroom layout included an outdated closet that restricted space around the bed and did not support modern storage needs. The bathroom was only accessible from the hallway, reducing privacy and convenience for the bedroom.
Scope of Work
To open up the space, we partially removed the hallway wall, allowing the corridor to visually connect with the bedroom and improve natural light flow. The existing hallway door was removed and replaced with custom slatted hidden doors, maintaining privacy while blending seamlessly into the wall as an architectural feature.
Inside the bedroom, the interior wall separating the bedroom and bathroom was carefully modified to create direct access from the bedroom. This change improved functionality and turned the bathroom into an ensuite space.
The old bedroom closet was fully removed and replaced with custom-built cabinetry integrated around the bed. These new cabinets provide balanced storage, frame the sleeping area, and create a clean, built-in look that maximizes available space.
Design & Execution
We managed the entire project from start to finish, including planning, space layout, design development, custom millwork fabrication, installation, and all required remodelling work. Custom wood slat panels, cabinetry, and concealed doors were designed and fabricated specifically for this project to ensure precise fit and consistency throughout the space. The result is a cohesive bedroom and hallway renovation that feels open, modern, and highly functional, with every element designed and executed to work together as one complete environment.
